2 New Songs UPLOADED: Overtime! & We Will Become Silhouettes
Greetings Citizens! We've uploaded 2 HOT NEW TRACKS so head on over to the audio archive and do some FREE downloadin'. First off is an original entitled "Overtime! (we're working)". This song has some great new wave synth action blended with some of hte most evil surf guitar riffs to date. We are both super proud of this one. We dedicate this song to all of you paper pushing slaves working in your plastic caves. The second song is a cover of The Postal Service song "We Will Become Silhouettes". We've been kicking this one around awhile and have been playing in one form or another for years now. We hope you enjoi our unique take on it.

A few articles, and live photos for you to look see at.
We've had a string of live shows and some nice little articles to go along with them. I have to give a big thanks to Todd Hunter for a ton of photos he's taken lately and some nice show recaps he's written up. I also need to thank Dylan from the Buzz for giving us a great show and write up last month.

News Shows and New Songs in the Werks
It's been awhile since we've uploaded any truly new material, however, that doesn't mean we haven't been busy working on some. We have a handful of songs in the works, including a hot new single called "Overtime!" and a cover of "Silhouttes" by the Postal Service. When we / I finally get around to finishing them we'll be uploading them to a new section of the audio archive called "Fantastic Singles". In the meantime come check us out on May 30th, the day before labor day. We're playing on the Mike 'n Molly's outdoor stage which was recently named the best venue in Champaign / Urbana. Yippee!!

UPLOADED: Shoot Me Now to Audio Archive
I just uploaded "Shoot Me Now" to the Audio Archive under the demos and outtakes section. This is a sweeeeeet 30 second song that I wrote for the animated version of the online comic strip by the same name. As it turned out the project never came together, but the demo song still exists. I'm uploading this because we are going to make it our opening song for the near future. Enjoi!

Also: Fixed the broken link to "Obsolete, We Are!" in the Single of the Month Club section.

Happy Holidays
Happy Merry Merry Christmas Everyone! We hope the Christmas Overlord, Santa, brought you everything on your list; and if you were on the naughty list this year, well, we wish you better luck next year.

If you are in the Peoria area, don't forget about the The Amazing Kill-O-Watts Kristmess spectacular at the Red Barn (corner of Glen and Sheridan in Peoria). The show begins at 9pm with Jared Grabb, followed by The River City Radicals, and then The Amazing Kill-O-Watts will close things out, I'm guessing around 11pm or so.

Finally, The Fantastic Plastics are hard at work booking shows and finishing the album up for early 2010. The Future of Rock and Roll is nigh.

Single of The Month Club for December - "Obsolete, We Are!"
The updates just keep a comin'. The Fantastic Platics have just completed our latest single for the Single of The Month Club and it's titled "Obsolete, We Are!" You can download it for FREE in the Audio Archive. It's a song about how each generation essentially makes the one before it obsolete by way of science. This song, once again, has a lot of 80s new wave influence and is certain to get stuck in your head all day. If you've had the fortunate opportunity to see our last couple of live shows, since officially changing our name to The Fantastic Plastics, then you've most certainly heard this one in its early stages.

Uploaded: The Orange Album by HAM - 1998 Classic geekrock
Greetings Citizens! All of you old school HAM fans can now rejoice...maybe. I've uploaded The Orange Album which was recorded by HAM when we were a 3 piece. The year was 1998, and the line-up was Atomic on Drums, Marsha on Bass, and me, Tyson, on guitar. The Orange Album contains The Cheese Factory and Culture Shock which are probably the two most requested songs when The Amazing Kill-O-Watts play our "reunion" shows...one of which will be 12/26/09. The album is sort of rough around the edges, but there is an innocence that can be felt and heard in every song. Enjoi! Audio Archive

Grand Theft Audio E.P. by The Amazing Kill-O-Watts uploaded
The Audio Archive is bursting with new FREE music. This time it's the Grand Theft Audio E.P. by The Amazing Kill-O-Watts. Recorded in 2005 this 5 song gem is loaded with more hooks than a tackle box. The E.P. begins with a roaring cover of The Magical Mystery Tour which morphes into a reprise of The Fool On The Hill (filled with Moog goodness). After the covers the E.P. blows up with Sloan like power pop goodness, so sugary your teeth will rot. I dare you to try and listen to Grand Theft Audio and not hum along throughout the day.

Next week I'll be uploading the famed "Orange Album" by HAM. All of these golden oldies are in anticipation of the annual Kill-O-Kristmas show in Peoria on December 26th at The Red Barn.

Slave to the Hive by MANDROID posted in Audio Archive
Check out the Audio Archive and download the entire album "Slave to the Hive" by Mandoid (destroyers of the human race). This was an awesome concept band Dylan and I had a few years back. The music, on the outside, is seemingly about half robot/half men trying to destroy the human race. However, upon closer examination the lyrics are actually about breaking free from consumerism and commercialism.

Our live shows included elaborate costumes hand made by Miranda Fidler. They were made out of spandex and vinyl armor, along with goggles. The live shows also had a large video installation that was perfectly synched to the music thanks to the tireless efforts of Dylan. There are a couple of the MANDROID videos up in the Video Vault and we plan on putting more up in the future.

Enjoi the goodness and stay tuned for the Single of the Month due out in a couple of days!!

Turkey Day Treats and a great Black Friday show in Peoria!!
Greeting citizens, today is Thanksgiving and in celebration of the day of feasts we've added a new section to the page. The Video Vault will house all of our current videos as well as videos from our past bands, such as MANDROID (destroyers of the human race). Currently we have a couple of The Fantastic Plastics videos in production which should be posted sometime in January, but in the meantime feast on the former beasts.

Also: The Fantastic Plastics will be bringing the Future of Rock and Roll to Peoria tomorrow night, BLACK FRIDAY!! We've added a 3rd TV to the tower. We have a 13" for the "head", vcr powered, a 20" for the body, also vcr powered, and a 25" for the base, powered by the Atari Video Music machine.

P.S. Stay tuned for some new/old audio nuggets. Should have some new stuff posted within the week.

New Website, New Band Name, New Shows, New Songs!!
Greeting citizens, and welcome to thefantasticplastics.com. The new website is in the process of taking shape, so check back often. The key feature of this website will be the audio archive. The audio archive will not only feature songs by The Fantastic Plastics, but it will also house the back catalog of Tyson former projects, including The Amazing Kill-O-Watts, MANDROID (destroyers of the human race), ...So Gigantic, HAM, and more. The audio archive will also house Dylan's solo releases as well.

You also may have noticed that we are no longer Tyson and The Friction and that we are instead The Fantastic Plastics. This name change came around mainly for two reasons. 1) The name Tyson and The Friction was repugnant. 2) As the band devolved into it's current phase Dylan took a much larger roll in the song writing department, not only co-writing songs like We Accelerate but also writing his own songs like Instamatic. And for this reason having my name in the title was no longer appropriate, and as stated before it was repugnant.

We will still continue the Single of The Month Club and we will still be playing shows. Our Single of The Month for November "We Are Obsolete" is a bit behind schedule, but we will debut it at our live show this weekend at the Sunflower House in Urbana.

Stay tuned for more updates and shows as well as additions to the audio archive.
